Midscale
About the artist
Midscale, a shoegaze quartet that emerged from the vibrant music scene of Paris in 2021, is synonymous with distorted melodies and ethereal arpeggios, crafting colossal walls of sound juxtaposed with discordant noise. Their sonic journey began with the release of an EP the following year, drawing inspiration from revered acts like Slowdive and DIIV. The subsequent unveiling of the single "Dean" hinted at a shift towards a darker, more penetrating sound, a trajectory reaffirmed onstage with the debut of new compositions. Since their inception, Midscale has shared stages with esteemed acts such as PARK, Cosmopaark, Equipe de Foot, Whitelands, and Gift. Their ascent continued into 2023 with a headline performance at Paris's esteemed venue La Boule Noire, marking the release party for the Nouveau Souvenir Label compilation, where their track "Structure" from the EP stood alongside offerings from titans like A Place To Bury Strangers and The KVB.
Their momentum reached new heights when they opened for Explosions in the Sky at Le Bataclan on 17/11/2023. And on 12/04/2024, Midscale unveiled their inaugural LP, "Movements," a milestone that allowed the band to venture into fresh sonic territories and embrace diverse influences. Through this exploration, Midscale solidified their musical identity, cementing their status as a formidable force in the shoegaze landscape.
